The big square as it is roughly translated, or in Swedish "Stora Torget" as it is sometimes called, however it's name is "Gustav Adolfs Torg" was for 300 centuries the center of the city, and probably still is.
And there shamepole, where people where put to be ashamed for what they had done. and the "wooden horse".
Shamepole was a pole put on a platform, and there the person who commited a crime was put and had to withstand several hours of people spitting and namecalling.
The "wooden horse"was of a "vass" placed on a plank where the one that was sentenced had to sit.
When harde punishment was set to example they moved the pole where they whipped people from the place it normally would be to stora torget.
